The Honors Music Program at the Westminster Conservatory

The Honors Music Program is Westminster Conservatory’s premiere program for gifted classical music students. An HMP education includes performance-oriented  and academic classes for talented students from age 8 to 18. Our students receive unmatched personal guidance from our world-class faculty of performers, teachers, and musicologists. HMP graduates go on to pursue careers in music or to pursue careers in other fields, with music as their lifetime avocation.

Established in 1970, Westminster Conservatory is the community music school of Westminster College of the Arts of Rider University. Welcoming musicians of all ages, skill levels, musical preferences, and economic backgrounds, Westminster Conservatory provides one-on-one music lessons and group classes in locations throughout central New Jersey and Bucks County. The Conservatory offers a wide range of classes and performing ensembles to engage students of all ages. From beginners to young maestros, or adult-beginners to accomplished amateurs, Westminster Conservatory is unmatched in the scope and depth of its offerings.

Joyful music experiences are vital to the development of the whole person, and Westminster Conservatory nurtures natural ability, curiosity, and love of music. Some classes provide an introduction to music and require no previous experience, while others are designed for accomplished music students to complement their private instruction. The Conservatory’s Early Childhood department specializes in providing developmentally appropriate music instruction to children from birth to  age 8. Musicially gifted students have the opportunity to join The Honors Music Program, which offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop mastery, total musicianship, and artistry.

Westminster Conservatory of Music is a nationally recognized institution and serves over 2,000 students every year. The Conservatory is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education,  joining as a provisional member in 1983 and with full membership in 1986.
